  • Welcome to my world!

YUP! I'm a mom and I'm totin' my camera and I'm PROUD of it!! After years of creating and learning and recreating and getting ahead of technology so I could create, learn and create some more, I found myself ready to branch out into a business where I could share my creativity with others. Just consider me obsessed...a passionate creative who is completely obsessed with the notion that beauty is alive and I have only to peek through my lens to see it...everywhere and in everyone!!
I hope to see you here often as I do my best to post new content weekly or more!! You won't want to miss the new categories I have planned such as photography tips for hip moms (you're a hip mom whether you know it or not!) and local small business features. Lots of new plans are in the mix and you won't want to miss a single post!
Be sure to like me on facebook for even more fun updates and photos and a (soon to come) behind the scenes look at what I do...or don't do...lol

Charmed

Perfectly agreeable in every way; there’s no other way to describe her unless you’re talking about her smiling eyes or her lighthearted laugh that says all is good in the world.

We had the unfortunate experience of not one rain out, but two…well, almost two…more like one and a half!!  AND, the second rain out was mixed with sleet and some MAJOR ominously menacing, BLACK clouds!  The kind that make you want to hide in your warm, dry house with all the curtains drawn, a blanket pulled up to your chin, all curled up on the couch with a big strappin husband cuddled up to you and a classic playing on the screen!  WOW!  That was a rabbit trail!!!  Needless to say, with her “all is good” attitude, she brushed off the need for a third attempt at finishing the session as if it were as normal as a glass of milk with oreo cookies!!  Have I ever mentioned how blessed I am with sweet clients?  Yup, didn’t think so…well, I am!

Pretty in Pink

She loves to shop and fashion is a must but that doesn’t stop her from visiting her flip side!  On any given sunny day, you may find her smeared with paint, brushes in hand, barefoot and in the throws of wild inspiration of a new creation on canvas…or then again, she may be trying on some “old fashioned” skates she happened upon, just for the laugh of it!

We had quite the eventful session together, stopping TWICE for SLEET!!!  Whoever heard of such a thing in the FALL in the TN VALLEY?!  Well, it made for some great memories and some fun times so even though I may sound like it, I’m really not complaining!  I’m still amazed at how she was able to wear that sleeveless dress and look so beautiful in the FREEZING weather all at the same time!  You are my forever hero, Emily!

More Hope

Tis the season to be ULTRA busy around here which is precisely why I decided to take the time to stop and share a few of the photos of my precious babies from New Hope.  I don’t always get the chance to post these sessions but I’m feeling the need to take a break, step back and just breathe in the beauty of these babies for a bit!

God bless all those that donate their time and money to make New Hope possible.  As always, I am honored to photograph theses faces of life!

memories that last

I always wondered what I would have done had my wedding photos not turned out the way I wanted.  After all, it is intended to be a one time occurrence!  Gives me evil goosebumps just thinking about the prospect of that disappointment!  So we can all groan together when I say that Elijah and Lindsey DID have to experience such a disappointment after their own wedding this past January.  BUT, on a happy note, this is what brought about the great evening that I shared with them last week just hanging out and getting some fun pictures!  I LOVE adorable couples and it seems that of late, I have been generously blessed with dark headed petite beauties and their handsomely strapping husbands!!  We ended up shooting well into the darkness but I don’t think they minded too much, lol!

Storybook love

Read about this couple’s love from cover to cover and you’ll look up with a warm heart and goose bumps to boot!  …then grab a fresh cup of coffee before jumping into the sequel that will hold you captive right off with their storybook wedding!

That’s how I felt the entire day…like a photographer journaling the greatest love story ever told.  The day was bright, the bride was beautiful, the groom was gleaming and their love was true.  I have poured through these photos at least a thousand time with a massive grin on my face, knowing this couple will last through the highs and lows of life.  These are the quick few I grabbed to share with a promise of more to come soon.

So grab that cup of coffee and enjoy…

Never have I had more delectable treats at a wedding reception in my life.  What makes it even more wonderful is that all these wonders were created by the bride’s mother.  I intended to eat nothing while I was there so I could dedicate all my time to the bride, but all these beautiful pink treats just kept yelling my name.  I must admit that I snatched two items and that while editing these photos, I wished I could reach through my screen and snatch a couple more.  She must be THE most talented treat maker in the entire south!  I don’t know how, but someday I want to eat more of these when I can INDULGE!!

Congratulations to Karen and Jesse.  May the Lord bless and keep you as you embark on your new lives as one.  It was an honor to photograph your day…I look forward to sharing all of your beautiful photos with you soon!
